Chris Blackwell brings over 28 years of experience across shipbuilding design, project management, sales and marketing, with a career spanning three of Western Australia’s leading shipbuilders: Austal, SilverYachts and Echo Yachts.
After eight years with Austal in design and project management, Chris joined SilverYachts in 2005 for their inaugural project M/Y Silver as Design Manager, contributed to the development of several award-winning superyachts and led the M/Y SilverFast newbuild project. In 2014, he joined West Australian superyacht builder Echo Yachts, where he oversaw the luxury outfitting of the award-winning 84-metre M/Y White Rabbit, the world’s largest trimaran superyacht.
Since 2019, Chris has served as Head of Sales & Marketing for Echo Marine Group and Echo Yachts, representing the group internationally and promoting its capabilities across full-custom superyacht and commercial vessel construction, refit, maintenance and advanced marine manufacturing.
Chris is also a Director of the Australian International Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Chairman of Superyacht Australia. Through these positions, he contributes to industry strategy, international engagement and advocacy on behalf of Australia’s marine manufacturing and superyacht sectors, drawing on extensive experience across both the technical and commercial sides of the industry.
