Andrew Wagner brings over 35 years of Project and General Management experience in the marine industry, spanning the Defence, Leisure Marine, Oil & Gas, and Power Generation sectors.
He currently serves as Business Development Manager at Tropical Reef Shipyard, the largest capacity shipyard in Northern Australia and the Indo-Pacific region, where his clients include the Australian Navy, US Army, US Navy, French Navy, paramilitary groups, and a wide range of heavy commercial vessels.
Previously, Andrew served as General Manager of United Engineering Services Oman (UES) and Al Masaood Marine and Engineering in Abu Dhabi, where he held full operational responsibility for the management of divisions, including P&L, maintenance, tenders and contracts, business development, and project management, delivering services for Defence and Leisure Marine clients as well as industrial repair and refit operations across the GCC and Malaysia.
Andrew began his career with International Marine in Melbourne, where he spent 20 years designing and building Caribbean and Bertram boats before relocating to the Middle East. In Malaysia, Andrew managed the construction of Michael Peters’ patented-design Interceptors in full carbon and 3D-infused technology. UES marketed the vessels to Qatar, Oman, Malaysia and Brunei.
Andrew holds a Postgraduate Degree in Management and has served as a Member of the National Marine Safety Council and various industry business groups. He currently sits on the Board of AIMEX and the Board of Cairns Cruising Yacht Squadron.
Outside of work, Andrew’s favourite pastimes are skiing and boating.
